I plan on quitting smoking in the spring. I quit for 2 months last year in the spring and I want to try again, preferably for a much longer time, if not indefinitely.
I have two major reasons. One, I have a fiance and children now, and I don't want to keep hurting myself and then years down the road have them have to suffer through the damage I've caused to myself with me. I want to be around as long as possible with them. Two, quite frankly, it's affecting my singing. I go out once a week to sing karaoke at a local bar. There's a group of maybe 5-10 regulars that are good singers and we all go out and sing our favorite songs. In the interests of full disclosure of course, I am one of the better singers there. I remember how much I improved in the two months that I'd quit smoking. I miss it.
I don't know why I decided to put this in my Townhall blog. Maybe it's because it's really the only blog of any type that I have. Or, it's a liberal conspiracy to show conservatives that people with liberal views are real humans too! ;)
